When a house-call beauty team is worth it in Limpopo
If four or more people need hair and makeup before the same ceremony, bringing the bar to the house is usually calmer — and cheaper in travel — than a convoy to town.
Glam Fairies was built as a beauty bar and a mobile service from the start. Sekhukhune is wide. A bride in Praktiseer, a matric dance in Jane Furse and a portrait session in Burgersfort should not all depend on one cramped waiting area. House calls exist so the work stays precise when the day is already full.
The days mobile glam makes sense
- Lobola, white wedding and traditional ceremony mornings with a bridal party.
- Matric dance or graduation groups sharing a house.
- Older clients or new mothers who prefer not to travel with a baby in the car.
- Content or family photography where the photographer is already on site.
A single soft-glam for one person is still welcome at the bar — that is the faster, lower-cost option. Travel time is billed only when we load the kit.
What we need from you the night before
A chair with a back, a plug point, daylight or a bright bulb, and a decision on the look. Send reference photos on WhatsApp before 18:00 the previous day. Outfits on hangers beat outfits in a suitcase. If the venue is a farm or a village with patchy signal, drop a pin while you still have reception.
Timing, honestly
Soft glam makeup is 60–90 minutes. Bridal glam with lashes sits closer to two hours including the settling of powder in heat. Hair is added after the face so pins do not leave marks. For a party of four, start three and a half hours before the first photograph. Starting late does not make the work faster; it only makes the last person anxious.
House-call days only stay profitable when bookings, deposits and follow-ups are tidy. A pretty page that does not convert wastes a Saturday. Deposits and cancellations
A 50% deposit holds the date, because travel and kit prep block other clients. Move the booking with 24 hours’ notice and the deposit follows you. Same-day cancellations after the kit is packed are forfeited. This is not rigidity; it is how we protect the next bride on the list.
